Planning sustainable infrastructure. GRADE Conversa 21 featuring Manuel Glave and Karla Vergara

Although the relevance of infrastructure investment for Peru’s sustainable development is recognized, progress still needs to be made in the development of plans and tools to guarantee it. In this context, the consortium formed by Wildlife Conservation Society, The Nature Conservancy and GRADE, with support from Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, is about to finish a project that aims to reinforce the integration of the environmental and social dimensions of sustainability, as well as the territorial vision in infrastructure planning in Peru through viables proposals and recommendations, focusing on national infrastructure plans.

Manuel Glave, Senior Researcher at GRADE, and Karla Vergara, Consultant at GRADE, tell us how the project activities seek to contribute to the new National Sustainable Infrastructure Plan for Competitivenes, as well as to ta better integration of the environmental dimension of sustainability and the territorial approach in infrastructure planning in Peru.
