Javier Escobal is elected member of the Advisory Committee for the V National Economic Census

Our Senior Researcher, Javier Escobal, has been appointed as a member of the Advisory Committee of the V National Economic Census (V CENEC) 2019-2020, which will be executed by the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI).

The Advisory Committee is the body responsible for proposing the strategies, planning, monitoring and evaluation of the activities corresponding to the census. It chair will be designated by the President of the Republic, and is integrated as follows:

a) The Head of the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI), who serves as Vice President.

b) A representative of the Ministries of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Economy and Finance, Energy and Mines, Transportation and Communications, Work and Promotion of Employment, Housing, Construction and Sanitation, Production, Interior, and Environment.

c) A representative of the Central Reserve Bank (BCR).

d) A representative of the National Superintendence of Customs and Tax Administration (SUNAT).

e) A representative of the National Council of Science, Technology and Technological Innovation (CONCYTEC).

f) A representative of the National Society of Industries (SIN).

g) A representative of the Chamber of Commerce of Lima (CCL).

h) A representative of the Board of Deans of the Colleges of Public Accountants of Peru.

i) Independent experts: Jorge Chávez Álvarez, Javier Ernesto Herrera Zúñiga and Javier Escobal D’Angelo.

j) The National Director of the National Census and Survey Directorate of the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI), who acts as Technical Secretary

The V CENEC will offer reliable and timely statistical information on the economic activities carried out in our country, which will be used for decision making, design and evaluation of sectorial development plans at national, regional and local levels. This will allow to fulfill the objectives of the National Competitiveness and Productivity Plan 2019 – 2030, which aims to articulate the efforts of the public and private sector for the population well-being.
