Using the cell phone location information reported by Google, Hugo Ñopo, senior researcher at GRADE, and Nelly Luna, general editor at Ojo Público, analyze how well the quarantine policies are working to reduce the mobilization of people in public spaces. Preliminary evidence from the data suggests that quarantine restrictions, including the gender separation policy, reduced outflows to markets.
