Presentation

The ILO is currently reviewing the statistical framework on informality, for which it has formed a working group whose outcomes and recommendations will be presented and discussed at the 21st International Conferen e of Labor Statisticians – CIET, to be held in October 2023. The evaluation being carried out by this working group includes carrying out field tests to test different measurement approaches, which allow consistent recommendations. As part of this process, pilot studies are being carried out in Uganda and Peru. In 2021, cognitive tests were carried out in which questionnaire alternatives were tested to obtain conclusions on measurement and good practices in questionnaire design. This year the pilot test will be carried out in a random sample of households. Through this project, continuity is given to the technical support that was given in the first stage to the ILO and INEI in the implementation of this project.
