In the last twenty years, Peru has enjoyed a remarkable agricultural export boom. We export more than US $ 3 billion of fruits and vegetables and more than US $ 6 billion if we consider all agricultural products. However, we still know very little about the characteristics of products and companies that have shown a greater ability to survive export.
Based on the findings of the study by Eduardo Zegarra, winner of the Annual CIES Research Contest, this event organized by GRADE and the Economic and Social Research Consortium (CIES), will answer the following questions:
- What are the products and companies that survive the export effort?
- What are the factors behind the survival of agro-export products and companies?
- What public policies and what actors are needed to enhance the survival of companies in the long term?
