Visiting researchers: how to apply

Visiting Researchers

At GRADE, we believe that academic collaboration and the exchange of ideas are essential to strengthening our research work. For this reason, we welcome a limited number of visiting researchers each year.

Those interested in applying to the program must meet the following requirements.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Hold a Ph.D. or be in the process of obtaining one. Researchers with other academic degrees may be considered, depending on their career trajectory, academic output, research connections, and potential for collaboration with GRADE.

DURATION OF THE STAY

Visiting researchers are expected to stay at GRADE for between one and six months.

Stays of shorter or longer durations may be evaluated on a case-by-case basis, depending on the availability of workspace and the researcher’s anticipated contribution to the institution.

Stays must be arranged in advance to ensure the availability of a workspace.

BENEFITS

Visiting researchers will have access to:

  • Workspace.
  • Internet connection.
  • Institutional library.
  • Internal seminars and other events organized by GRADE.
  • Facilities to organize an internal or external seminar.

GRADE does not provide funding or housing for visiting researchers’ stays.

VISITING RESEARCHER COMMITMENTS

  • Present at least one internal seminar on their research topic.
  • Ideally, publish in one of GRADE’s institutional series, such as the “Analysis & Proposals” policy briefs, the “Research Progress Papers” series of works in progress, or the “Research Papers” series.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Interested individuals must submit the following documents:

  • Curriculum vitae, including a brief biography of 150 to 200 words.
