This paper estimates the production function at the firm level of the Peruvian economy, which allows us to characterise the productivity of the firm through its total factor productivity and its labour productivity. The data correspond to all formal firms that reported data between 2002 and 2011. This information allows us to correct for the traditional problems of endogeneity of regressors and sample selection, aspects present in existing studies that estimate the parameters of the production function in Peru. We find that the share of the capital factor in income is around 0.64, a heterogeneous parameter according to the main economic sectors. Productivity is higher in secondary and tertiary sectors, in large firms and in Metropolitan Lima.
