Sanchez, A., Favara, M., Ford., K., Hittmeyer, A., Porter, C., Freund, R. y Douglas, S. (2018). El impacto del COVID-19 sobre la salud mental de jóvenes en el Perú. Boletín de Políticas Públicas sobre Infancia, (14), 1-8.

Using data from the longitudinal Young Lives (NdM for its acronym in Spanish) study, this bulletin documents factors associated with symptoms of anxiety and depression in 19-26 year olds in Ethiopia, India, Peru and Vietnam during the pandemic. Of the four countries, Peru was the most affected by COVID-19, and this was reflected in mental health outcomes: between August and October 2020, 41% of study participants reported at least mild symptoms of anxiety and 32% reported symptoms of depression. Young women and urban dwellers were most affected. Associated factors include the role of economic hardship, increased health expenditures and changes in household responsibilities brought about by the pandemic and quarantine policies.
