Presentation

Under commission from FIDA, Miguel Jaramillo is in charge of this Project, which is a continuation of a previous one promoted by Diálogo Interamericano and the University of Tulane (2010) focused on the analysis of fiscal policy at national level as part of a study in 6 countries of Latin America.

This part focuses on analyzing the incidence of fiscal policy (taxes and cash transfers) on the income of urban and rural populations, so that these effects may be analyzed for each ambit.  The analysis places special emphasis on individual and joint capacity of the different components of the fiscal policy on inequality and poverty reduction in each of these areas. It considers, furthermore, a differentiation of effects by socio-economic group.
