Adapting ourselves to adaptation: study of the influence of discourses and policies on adaptation to climate change in the local forms of government

Presentation

The study identifies and analyzes the impact that the initiatives for adaptation to climate change have had on local social and political organizations.  In particular, it seeks to analyze how the discourses and policies on adaptation are understood, incorporated or rejected by the local populations.

The study will be conducted in the region of Cuzco of Peru and it is framed within a greater comparative study that comprises Pakistan, Switzerland and Peru.

This Project is executed under collaboration with the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (IHEID) and funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation.
