Miguel Jaramillo was a speaker in two international think tank meetings, as part of the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing

About 200 people of think tank executives, former politicians and scholars from more than 40 countries attended the Thematic Session on Think Tank Exchanges of the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, on May 14, in Beijing.

During the session, attendees discussed the opportunities to strenghten collaboration between think tanks from countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, but also those not involved, to lead to a better world communication. Think tanks should study and plan Belt and Road development against the backdrop of economic globalization, international relations and exchanges between civilizations.

Our Executive Director, Miguel Jaramillo, joined this meeting as a speaker of the “International Cooperation Blueprint for Innovative Development of Belt and Road” Session. The experts discussed the chances to promote the docking of key development strategy plans of relevant regions and countries with the Belt and Road.

Furthermore, on May 15, it was held the Fifth Global Think Tank Summit “Gathering Wisdoms for Promoting Global Growth”. Miguel was part of the round table addressing the challenges, opportunities and countermeasures of the new situation of globalization.

Proposed in 2013, the Belt and Road Initiative, lead by China and its President, Xi Jinping, is a plan to connect Asia with Europe and Africa along ancient trade routes by putting in place an unparalleled trade and infrastructure network.
