Several of our researchers are speakers and panelists at the CIES XXVII Research Annual Seminar 2016, hold by Economic and Social Research Consortium (CIES), from 22 to 24, November.

The meeting brings together researchers from the economic, social and environment sciences, government officials, entrepreneurs, international cooperation and civic society agents around fourteen academic events: thematic research tables and public events.

Wednesday, November 23

What are the main challenges in Peru in moving forward in investment on the way to the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OCDE)? Juana Kuramoto, associate researcher at GRADE, will be discussing the Peruvian experience in Natural Science and the Canadian experience in Social Science canadiense en Ciencias Sociales. Ricardo Fort, senior researcher at GRADE, will discuss findings and policy recommendations on the winning studies of the research contest “Using IV CENAGRO 2012”, gathered in the research review undertook by Richard Webb (Institute of Peru). The studies address issues on innovations and dissemination, land use planning, tenure security, credit, associativity and connection. More information here.

Our senior researcher, María Balarin, will speak on the experience of Grupo Sofía, Women Researchers in Social Science in Peru, as part as the panel “Opportunities and barriers of professional women in Peru”. The panel will discuss historical determinants, institutional barriers, and opportunities for higher participation of professional women in Peru. More information here.
